Want to write more about this at some point, especially the way that this is the perfect marriage of the Linn drums from Ciara’s Promise and 40 & Drake’s underwater vibes and Miguel’s falsetto and Frank’s craftsmanship.

But mostly, I love the syllabic swirl of the opening - those accents on ROOM /ex-CUSE / it’s US-ually that slide slowly into the unaccented came / made / rain in three consecutive lines gracefully descending like birds coming in for a landing and then ending the verse with those starkly punctuated breaths before the chorus: 

My / eyes/ don’t / shed / tears / But boy they bawl
